Helikopterpilot Adam Gibson staunt nicht schlecht, als er eines Tages nach getaner Arbeit auf der heimischen Hausmatte steht und feststellen muss, dass bereits ein Doppelgänger den Posten als Familienvater eingenommen und seinen frischgebackenen Geburtstagskuchen angeschnitten hat. Als dann auch noch postwendend unbekannte Bösewichte nach seinem Leben trachten, zieht der begreiflicherweise erregte Bürger auf einen fulminanten Rachefeldzug - und fördert eine umfassende Verschwörung in Kreisen kriminellen Humangenetiker zutage.
