Colin Andrew Firth (geboren am 10. September 1960) ist ein englischer Film-, Fernseh- und Bühnenschauspieler. Firth erregte in den 90er Jahren durch seine Darstellung von Mr. Darcy in der Fernsehverfilmung von Jane Austens Stolz und Vorurteil von 1995 breite öffentliche Aufmerksamkeit. Im Jahr 2011 erhielt Firth den Academy Award for Best Actor für seine Darstellung von King George VI in The King's Speech, eine Performance, die ihm auch den Golden Globe, BAFTA und Screen Actors Guild Award for Best Actor einbrachte. Im Vorjahr erhielt er seine erste Oscar-Nominierung für seine Hauptrolle in A Single Man, eine Leistung, die ihm einen BAFTA Award einbrachte. Zu Firths weiteren großen Filmen gehören The English Patient, Shakespeare in Love, Bridget Jones's Diary, Mamma Mia! und Love Actually. Er erhielt 2011 einen Stern auf dem Hollywood Walk of Fame.
