Ted, Doug und Angie sind drei ehemalige Soldaten, die sich versprochen haben, sich an einem Tag, dem 11.10.1955, wiederzusehen, und zwar in einer Bar in New York. Tatsächlich tauchen alle drei dort auf, doch ihre Freundschaft von damals hat sich seither verändert.
