George Timothy Clooney (geboren am 6. Mai 1961) ist ein amerikanischer Schauspieler, Filmregisseur, Produzent und Drehbuchautor. Er erhielt drei Golden Globe Awards für seine Arbeit als Schauspieler und zwei Academy Awards - einen für Schauspielerei und einen für Produktion. Clooney ist auch für seinen politischen Aktivismus bekannt und ist seit dem 31. Januar 2008 einer der Botschafter des Friedens der Vereinten Nationen. Geboren in Lexington, Kentucky, als Sohn von Nick Clooney, einem langjährigen Fernsehnachrichtensprecher, der bereits im Alter von 5 Jahren eine Talkshow in Cincinnati moderierte und George oft in die Studios einlud. Ohne Konkurrenz zu seinem Vater kündigte er nach kurzer Zeit seinen Job als Rundfunkjournalist. Einige Jahre Studium an der Northern Kentucky University. Ich konnte dem Baseballteam von Cincinnati Reds nicht beitreten. Er kam zur Schauspielerei, als sein Cousin Miguel Ferrer ihm eine kleine Rolle in einem Spielfilm schenkte. Danach zog er 1982 nach L.A. und versuchte ein ganzes Jahr lang, eine Rolle zu bekommen, während er im Schrank eines Freundes schlief. Sein erster Film, zusammen mit Charlie Sheen, blieb unveröffentlicht, brachte ihm aber die Aufmerksamkeit der Produzenten für spätere Verträge.
