David Michael Koechner ist ein amerikanischer Charakterdarsteller (Film, Fernsehen und Bühne), Komiker und Musiker. Koechner begann sein Studium der Improvisationskomödie in Chicago am ImprovOlympic bei Del Close, bevor er sich Second City Northwest anschloss. Nach einem Jahr als Sketch-Komiker bei Saturday Night Live und Late Night with Conan O'Brien begann er, kleine Rollen in Filmen wie Der Mondmann und Wag the Dog zu übernehmen. Während der Dreharbeiten zur Country-Mockumentary Dill Scallion freundete sich Koechner mit Dave „Gruber“ Allen an und gründete The Naked Trucker & T-Bones Show. Der Auftritt wurde ein Hit in Hollywood-Clubs wie Largo und das Duo wurde eingeladen, als Vorgruppe für Tenacious D aufzutreten.
