Paul Anthony Sorvino (* 13. April 1939 New York City) ist ein US-amerikanischer Schauspieler italienischer Abstammung. Seine erste Filmrolle spielte er 1970 im Film Wo is' Papa?. Im Jahr 1973 wurde er für seine Rolle im Theaterstück That Championship Season für den Tony Award nominiert. Im Jahr 1976 erhielt Sorvino neben Karl Malden und Michael Douglas die führende Nebenrolle in der Folge Superstar der Serie Die Straßen von San Francisco, in der er den aufbrausenden New Yorker Polizei-Sergeant Bert D’Angelo spielte, der die Spur eines Verbrechers bis nach San Francisco verfolgt hatte. Das im folgenden Jahr ausgestrahlte Spin-off Superstar war jedoch ein Flop und wurde nach nur einer Staffel wieder eingestellt. Sorvino spielte im Film Cruising (1980) neben Al Pacino und Karen Allen. Im Jahr 1990 übernahm er eine seiner bekanntesten Rollen, die des hochrangigen Mafiamitgliedes Paul Cicero (basierend auf Paul Vario) in Martin Scorseses Filmklassiker Good Fellas – Drei Jahrzehnte in der Mafia. Nach dieser Rolle wurde Sorvino später immer wieder als Mafiagangster eingesetzt, so in Rocketeer, Die Firma oder Bulletproof Gangster. Weitere wichtige Rollen übernahm er im Film Nixon (1995) neben Anthony Hopkins und im Film American Perfect (1997) neben Amanda Plummer. Er trat ebenfalls in einigen Fernsehserien wie We'll Get By, Bert D'Angelo/Superstar und Law & Order auf.
