urt Vogel Russell (nato il 17 marzo 1951) è un attore americano. A 12 anni iniziò a recitare nella serie TV western The Travels of Jaimie McPheeters (1963–1964). Alla fine degli anni '60 firmò un contratto decennale con la Walt Disney Company, dove interpretò Dexter Riley in film come The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1969), Now You See Him, Now You Don't (1972) e The Strongest Man in the World (1975). Per la sua interpretazione della superstar del rock and roll Elvis Presley in Elvis (1979), fu nominato al Primetime Emmy Award come Miglior Attore Protagonista in una Serie o Film Limitato o Antologico. Secondo Robert Osborne di Turner Classic Movies, Russell divenne la star principale dello studio negli anni '70. Russell è stato nominato al Golden Globe come miglior attore non protagonista per la sua interpretazione in Silkwood (1983) di Mike Nichols. Sempre negli anni '80, recitò in diversi film diretti da John Carpenter in cui interpretò ruoli da anti-eroe: il film d'azione futuristico Escape from New York (1981), il suo sequel Escape from L.A. (1996), il film horror The Thing (1982) e il film comico kung-fu d'azione Big Trouble in Little China (1986). Russell ha recitato in vari altri film, tra cui Used Cars (1980), The Best of Times (1986), Overboard (1987), Tango & Cash (1989), Backdraft (1991), Tombstone (1993), Stargate (1994), Executive Decision (1996), Breakdown (1997), Vanilla Sky (2001), Miracle (2004), Sky High (2005), Death Proof (2007), The Hateful Eight (2015) e Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019). È apparso anche nel franchise di Fast & Furious nel ruolo di Mr. Nobody (recitando in Furious 7 (2015), The Fate of the Furious (2017) e F9 (2021)). Ha anche interpretato Ego nelle partite dell'Universo Cinematografico Marvel (MCU) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (2017) e What If...? (2021), e ha interpretato il ruolo di Babbo Natale in Le Cronache di Natale (2018) e Le Cronache di Natale 2 (2020).
