Mitch Wayne ist Geologe im Ölkonzern der Hadleys, hat immer die Schläge für seinen Freund, den neurotischen Playboy Kyle Hadley eingesteckt und wird von Kyles Schwester Marylee hoffnungslos geliebt. Kyle schnappt Mitch Sekretärin Lucy weg und gibt das Trinken auf. Marylee wird betrunken aufgegriffen, provoziert Mitch erotisch und führt den Tod des Vaters herbei. Kyle glaubt, Lucy sei von Mitch schwanger, stellt ihn und kommt zu Tode. Marylee überwindet sich, sagt vor Gericht die Wahrheit. Mitch ist frei.
